BIO

Who Am I?
My name is Shane Sczepankowski and I have been working in a theatrical capacity for most of my adult life. My educational background is based around collaborative theater making with a strong focus on devising physical theatre by adapting Shakespeare’s texts.
Personally and over the past several decades, I have been honing my own brand of sharable acting techniques. By blending together my Early Modern theatre education, and combining that with a substantial practical background, I help discover emotional potential. I locate the potential in each and every rehearsal space
in order to create a safe place where all performers can express themselves
and be unique.
2009
Schenectady County Community College
This is where I received my Associates Degree in Theater. Here is where I began exploring my theatrical beginnings while starting to receive public accolades for my performative prowess on stage via local and statewide competitions.
2014
Mary Baldwin University
Moving to Virginia was frightening but necessary. My undergraduate work at Mary Baldwin was met with an abundance of good fortune; affording me multiple opportunities to act, direct, write, and produce. Creating a space for me to harbor my found passion of defining potential.
2015-2017
Mary Baldwin University
Graduate work was the most challenging yet fulfilling theatrical experience I had encountered up to that time. Writing, presenting, and defending two thesis' was exhausting but truly worth it. Establishing a traveling Shakespeare-based theater company from the ground up has laid the foundation for much of the work I still pursue today.
